Logging has played an important role in BC’s history

Logging’s role in the Kootenays has been just as prominent and continues to this day. Not many can say that they know someone who works, did work, or in some way connect to the industry. Logging here in the valley can be traced back to the early 1900s. Numerous small mills operated in the area. Today forestry remains in the Kootenays playing a key role.
